Correction: Multi-Approaches Analysis Reveals Local Adaptation in the Emmer Wheat (Triticum dicoccoides) at Macro- but not Micro-Geographical Scale

چکیده
There is an error in the third sentence of the sixth paragraph of the Introduction. The correct sentence is: There are three widely accepted scenarios of QST—FST comparisons, (i) no effect of selection (QST FST); (ii) diversifying selection (QST > FST); (iii) convergent selection (QST < FST) [51–52]. There is an error in the fourth sentence of the second paragraph of the Assessment of quantitative trait variation subsection of the Materials and methods. The correct sentence is: The QST estimates were calculated for each measured trait using the equation QST = VPOP/ (VACC+VPOP) where VPOP is the estimated variance component for the population effect and VACC is the estimated variance component for the accession (= genotype) effect.

Multi-Approaches Analysis Reveals Local Adaptation in the Emmer Wheat (Triticum dicoccoides) at Macro- but not Micro-Geographical Scale
Detecting local adaptation and its spatial scale is one of the most important questions of evolutionary biology. However, recognition of the effect of local selection can be challenging when there is considerable environmental variation across the distance at the whole species range. We analyzed patterns of local adaptation in emmer wheat, Triticum dicoccoides, at two spatial scales, small (int...
متن کاملSolar Radiation-Associated Adaptive SNP Genetic Differentiation in Wild Emmer Wheat, Triticum dicoccoides
Whole-genome scans with large number of genetic markers provide the opportunity to investigate local adaptation in natural populations and identify candidate genes under positive selection. In the present study, adaptation genetic differentiation associated with solar radiation was investigated using 695 polymorphic SNP markers in wild emmer wheat originated in a micro-site at Yehudiyya, Israel...
متن کاملWild emmer wheat, Triticum dicoccoides, occupies a pivotal position in wheat domestication process
Domestication of plants and animals is the major factor underlying human civilization. Cultivated wheats refer mainly to two types: the hexaploid bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) accounting for about 95% of world wheat production, and the tetraploid durum wheat (T. durum) accounting for the other 5%. T. aestivum derived from a cross between domesticated emmer T. dicoccum and the goat grass Aegil...
متن کاملRFLP analysis of nuclear DNA for study of phylogeny and domestication of tetraploid wheat
To study the phylogeny and domestication of tetraploid wheat species, variations in nuclear DNA of the cultivated and wild species were investigated by RFLP analysis. Twenty-two accessions representing 11 species of cultivated tetraploid wheat (Emmer wheat and Timopheevi wheat), 16 accessions of wild Emmer wheat (Triticum dicoccoides Körn.), 14 accessions of wild Timopheevi wheat (T. araraticum...
متن کاملNatural Selection Causes Adaptive Genetic Resistance in Wild Emmer Wheat against Powdery Mildew at “Evolution Canyon” Microsite, Mt. Carmel, Israel
BACKGROUND "Evolution Canyon" (ECI) at Lower Nahal Oren, Mount Carmel, Israel, is an optimal natural microscale model for unraveling evolution in action highlighting the basic evolutionary processes of adaptation and speciation. A major model organism in ECI is wild emmer, Triticum dicoccoides, the progenitor of cultivated wheat, which displays dramatic interslope adaptive and speciational dive...
